I bought this Canadian marked Webley MK V about 5 years ago and while doing some research I see it doesn't have the serial number on the edge of the cylinder. The last three digits '833' and '455' are on the face of the cylinder (see pics). It doesn't appear to have been shaved, the firing pin touches the primer on a spent case. Any ideas? Thanks, Peter

The serial number is in the correct range (129,900 to 215,000) so your pistol is early production. .455 is the calibre, of course but I don't see any Canadian markings. I had a 4" barrelled Mk V decades ago and I thought Canada grandfathered >101mm barreled pistols as "Prohibited" some time ago.

We did, about '98. Anyone holding was grandfathered in and could have and deal between themselves. Now all handguns are prohibited by law so owners have what they have and they can't buy or sell.
On the revolver in picture, the number marking on the cylinder is the way I see them marked. Looks right.
