Kind of like facing a mandatory 12 years in prison for inadvertently bringing a few rounds of ammunition in your luggage?

Is it a M1903 rear sight or a 03A3 rear sight? And any special configuration you are looking for, or just one to replace a missing/broken one?

its for a 1903A1 - the rifle is in almost unissued condition (currently with earlier sight fitted), so I'm looking for a correct sight in similar condition

To be clear you're looking for a rear movable sight base with slide assembly? On a m1903a1 earlier sights can also be considered correct. Devil in the details.

That's what I'm after...
Leaf with unpolished face and minus the 2850 notch - slide binding screw with plain undished face and no groove cut in the knurled diameter

I know from experience you cannot ship US military gun parts out of the U.S. I'm not sure about commercial parts. Before I found out about the rules, I had a carbine stock shipped to Italy
confiscated and a M17 Enfield stock confiscated going to Canada
