I did training in an old Shawnee mockup exactly once on a US fort, didn't know we were involved in history then. Neat old aircraft.

I did training in an old Shawnee mockup exactly once on a US fort, didn't know we were involved in history then. Neat old aircraft.
Canada
had a small fleet of Flying Bananas that did yeoman work on SAR missions and building and supplying the Mid-Canada Line of radar posts. The Museum of Flight and Transportation had a complete H21 when they were located at their Surrey site but were eminent domained off their property and had to sell it as it wouldn't fit at their new Langley airport location.

Thinking back, I think it was down in Coronado CA when I was down there first time and a Marine Gunny had us doing dismount drills on their field of dreams equipment. He accompanied with stories of using them in RVN. About Dec 1974 we were there that time...
