When I was first learning, my dad made my brother and I take the NRA hunter safety course. Then we used our own savings to buy 20ga bolt action shotguns. He was 12 and I was 13. We kept our guns and ammo in our rooms. Yes, we lived in a rural area. Can you imagine someone doing that today?
I always take a .22 to the range. They are a nice way to finish the day.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Had the No2 mk IV out the other day. Using Eley subsonics, no hearing protection required! Very fun. The Cooey sight works well.

Out again with the old trainer. 50 metres.
Only problem was light: my pupils started going mad every now and then. But still very satisfying shooting.
With the cheapest ammo I could buy: Geko Semi-Auto.

They shoot great. They're so heavy in most cases they sit steady and .22 ammo is accurate enough usually no matter how cheap it is.
