Another appointment today in the "What the Hell's Going on" saga.
Supposedly, she was to have another procedure to remove stones from the right. This was to be before the New Year which is almost upon us. She had x-rays done last week to see if she needed it or not. X-rays show she has stones in both the left and right kidneys still. He took the stent out on the left and is planning to take out the one on the right today. That means no additional procedures at present.
Now this remains confusing as these stones while not anywhere near as large as the ones that were broken up, they are significant and she is not passing them. She has a strainer to catch the material.
At no time has she ever been given medication for them, not any diet suggestions on how to reduce them or hinder their growth. We've done research on that on our own and had advice from others who have gone through this.
We just feel like he's screwing us over at this point. This has been a cluster from the very beginning. He was told our insurance might change with the New Year which is why it was supposed to be done by then. My wife believes he can't get it done and is thus just letting it go figuring we can't pay for it or something. The insurance may not change, we don't know yet but it looks like it's going to continue another year. She's on a special program that is for breast and cervical cancers and while she's been cancer free now for two years I think, they keep her on the program to monitor her. It has to be renewed each year and the paperwork has been put in. She has regular insurance on top of this but we'll have to pay a deductible for service and while not massive, it's still pretty large. IF, she is denied the other plan.
So we shall see, he's telling her these stones should pass, and maybe they should, she thinks they are just going to grow again. I'm going to the appointment with her to intimidate him a bit I think. He doesn't seem to like me much, I make him nervous. Never raised my voice, I've just asked pointed questions.
