A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Thank you!
Great day, and it's not over. Kiddos made a very good cake. Hopefully the Eagles will win, even if the mayor can't spell their name.
I think I've decided my present to self will be to finally start casting. I don't have that much interest outside my krags, 45acp, and trapdoors, which is why I haven't taken the plunge yet. It's been hard over the last several years to keep stocked for my drags and trapdoors - and I must say 500gr, soft 30:1, flat base round nose in a trapdoor are deadly accurate. Buffalo Arms makes them, but are rarely in stock. I grabbed the mould when I found it a few years ago, but have so far kept talking myself out of a good pot and other gear.

Good call. I started in a while back. Had a mold for .44 Special/ Mag for quite some time before, but sat on it for years. Finally picked up a Lyman 314299 mold, a pot, some welding gloves, and a thermometer, then it began. No way I'm paying $20.00+ for .45 ACP now, not to mention the more exotic stuff.

When I was shooting cast out of my 357 S&W's we used old scrapped wheel weights from the tyre repair places they were pretty much the right antimony hardness to melt straight up.
You only had to fish out the steel clip when to many got into the pot.

That's the usual around here. I smelted old wheel weights for years but now with the "Clean" wheel weights many are unusable, zinc. I cast everything I shot and used gas checks too... Even .690 round ball for 12Ga.

    Happy B-Day...happy casting.
    Regards, Jim
