    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     Probably the Philippine Guerillas had a habit of taking and wearing the uniform of dead Japanese soldiers they personally killed as a badge of Courage and Bravery. Of course the higher the rank of the dead Japanese soldier the greater the courage and bravery. After the US Forces landed back in the Philippines, they were ordered to remove the uniforms as they were being mistaken by the Allied Forces as Japanese. They were pretty brave S*B.s "American Guerilla in the Philippines" is an excellent read. I believe they even made a movie with Tyrone Power after WWII.
