The Loyal Eddies went overseas with Mk.II Ross rifles.
I have a relic Mk.2 bayonet dug up at the site of one of their first battles
I has been confirmed by their unit historian that they hit the line with the Mk.2 and it was a while before they got the Mk.3 and later the SMLE.
I have both Mk.2 and Mk.3 relic bayonets dug up at their battle sites.

Just acquired the remains of a Mk.II marked on the butt 42 CEF and L.C. on the receiver ring. Previously issued to Canadian
Garrison Artillery. 6-15 mark presumably indicates when issued to the 42nd who embarked that same month for the U.K.
Haven't seen L.C. on the receiver before.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.
