1944 muzzle cover tape vs 1943 friction tape
Hello all, I've posted this on another forum and thought I should probably bring it over here as well in case people are interested. Muzzle cover tape and friction tape is indeed field gear and muzzle cover tape is one of the rarest of them all. Here are the visual differences for those interested. Any questions and critiques are 100% welcome. If you see something that is weird or makes you think it's fake, please speak up, It will not hurt my feelings or cause me to argue with you like we have seen in recent previous threads haha. I have no ego and this is only about the items pictured. Enjoy for what it's worth

Friction tape is mainly used to wrap electrical connections especially when using things such as split bolt kerneys or for a slip proof wrap on handles of tools and hockey sticks. Electricians have been using it since before the Great War.

Very true and friction tape also was used to hold together magazines, keep water out of ammunition cans, to strap down web gear, etc. It was one of the most versatile pieces of field gear during world war II.
