Parker Hale No.4 two piece scope mounts question

Has anyone out there noticed if there were two hole spacings on the front base of the Parker Hale setup used on the Enforcer, and various No.4 sporters?

I've noticed a number of Surrey and Sussex conversions, without basses fitted obviously, which have the forward hole about 1/16" further towards the front face of the bodies than usual.
