No. That would be a bit beyond my restoration skills. I am hoping the blade will look a little happier after a good polish.

Nice example. Yes, the difference in colour of the scabbard paint on mine is one of the main reasons I am almost certain the paint is not original.

The end result. I have cleaned and greased the tang and bolts, lightly polished the blade, treated the leather frog with some leather food and repainted the scabbard in RAL 6014 Gelboliv. It’s never going to be a museum quality example, but overall I’m happy with it.
