    Enfieldlock?

"Enfieldlock" was the user name of Jim Franklin (ex RSAF apprentice) who according to his page last visited here two years ago.
Some of you may remember Jim as being involved with EFD and Geoffery Organ; I made some enquiries yesterday and heard Jim may have passed, can anybody on here confirm that please?

I'm sure he has - It must have been at least a year ago that his Son notified folks and explained he was trying to 'run down the business' and sell off all the bits and pieces, and then would finally close it .
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Sad, I'd not heard, although I had noticed the ominous silence. Another one of us rides off into the sunset........

I knew both Jim and Geoffrey. They visited here together many years ago. Jim visited once with Geoffrey. Geoffrey visited multiple times, usually with his wife. They had a condo on Hilton Head Island, SC. Are you sure it's not Geoffrey that you're referring to AdE? I thought Jim and Geoffrey had parted company years ago when it came to the EFD business.

I used to regularly shoot with Jim but looking back I don't ever recall him mentioning close family, possibly why none of us had heard anything? If indeed he has passed.

I recall mention of a death here some years back related to that company.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.

That would probably be Geoffrey Organ, the owner. His son supposedly took over.

Shame. I think it was he that I sourced my upper band for my No. 1 Mk V restoration. Correct me if my memory is wrong. Was his business EFD LTD?

Geof passes away some years ago
Jim was still above ground last fall.
I spoke with him and all was well.
