Correct FOI address???
I submitted a FOI request last week for five of my firearms (Garands and a1911A1) and have not heard anything back. The post I read said I could submit a request for up to six. I don’t have any idea the time frame usually involved but I’ve heard good turn around times on a couple of forums. I’m very happy waiting…I just want to make sure I sent it to the right place!!!
I ran across an another email address on the net just now when I did a Goggle search for FOI on M1
Garands. It was USARMY.KNOX.HRC.MBX.FOI@ARMY.MIL. I sent my request to usarmy.redstone.Idac.mbx.foia@army.mil.
Can someone tell me which is correct or if they both are, which you have had more success with? Thank you!!! Cheers!

It's FOIA Freedom of Information Act request. I recommend you join the CMP
website for this as they have direct links. I used Redstone for my CMP Remington Rand 1911-A1 and recieved a wealth of info dated from 4/76 to 10/23. Their info begins in 1976 because thats when records became computerized. From post WWII to 1976 is a giant information void. Sometimes you can get lucky with a tidbit here or there but it's not the rule. Now Redstone is only for Army info if your weapons were in the hands of any other branch you have to submit a FOIA request to that branch specifically. It's all on the CMP site.
There is a limit of 3 requests per month or they charge by the hour for the research. Each request must be submitted individually.
