Yes there are two Steyr 88 rifles . The Austrian M-88 and the Gew-88 .

The 7.35 carcano brass is out there sometimes, but if you can only get the 6.5 carcano all that is required is run it through 7.35 sizing die and trim 1mm. You now have 7.35 brass. Bullets are not that difficult to do also.
I made a .299 inch sizing die out of a .284" die. Then take 150 grain .308 bullets,(I use flat base) lube them up and squeeze them thru the die once or twice and now you have 150 gr 7.35 bullets. Last time I checked the Lee 7.35 Carcano dfie set is still out there.
Using these loads makes for a nice soft recoiling rifle. Oh yeah, my rifle was also hiding in Finland
and whoever had it carved his name in the stock, adds a bit of history to me. Also have a folding bayonet and correct scabbard.

I have ordered a box of PPU ammo.
If I like the gat (I bet I will), I’ll buy the dies and bullets. They are available here without trouble.
These weeks are a bit full, otherwise I’d have shot the thing already.
