Can you identify these aircraft?
Could not get any closer to these at the air show. I suspect the Mid-Atlantic Museum might try to restore them.
Is this the Flying Boxcar?
Thanks,

Is this the P-80 Shooting Star?
If so, I think that was our first combat jet, rushed into production at the beginning of the Korean War. Does anyone know?

Looks like yes on both counts...
a C-119 Flying Boxcar, alright:

and a P-80/F-80 (AAF/USAF designations):

I believe the fighter to be an F84. If the wings are swept back, it could also be an F86 but from the angle the photo was taken, it seems the cockpit to be to far back for an F86.

Impressive but I doubt they'll meet EPA requirements. Can you identify?

BTW, can't tell about the jet from the photo, but F-84 seems likely.

Nope! The C-82 had more rounded vertical stabilizers and lacked the large fillet up the booms. It also had a rounded rear fuselage rather than the horizontally split/ramp found in the C-119.
Like I said, I was looking at both of them Friday at the AFM!
