N°8 MK1 scope box
Hello, all.
I have found what I think to be a good N°8 MK1 rouded edges box made from Berry's Electric Ltd in 1941
Alas, the brass insert riveted inside to receive the N°32 Mount screws is missing.
Did someone know where to get one, original or repro?
Thank you for your help, all.

Never heard of a repro or an insert on its own. If the can matches a rifle you have you best option is to keep an eye on ebay for a Dutch scope can to use as a donor as cheap ones pop up from time to time.

Best option is to find someone with a box that has the insert made with a folded-over base rivetted to two upright brass bits upon which the telescope mount rested and screwed. Then fabricate your own. It's simplicity itself to remake/fabricate a duplicate.
I did about 10 during the 80's after I came across a load of boxes that had the inserts removed............ just so that they'd make better storeage tins for nuts and bolts!

do it yourself
Thank you fo your help.
It is difficult or me to locate a first type box in France
at this time.
If someone had a blueprint of the missing parts... I would be abble to try a homework

Can anyone with a fabricated insert help patper with a workable sketch? I have had a look at ours at work but we haven't got one. But I bet someone out there has!
Good luck Patper

No.8Mk.1 scope box
You're in luck. I just looked and I have one of the fabricated inserts. It's original and just needs to be installed properly. It's the only spare I've ever seen. Email me directly if interested.

Brian, please take some details/measurements/photos so that it's easy for someone needy to make one in the future

Have you got the insert yet Patper? If not Brian, I'll have it. I've still got a few boxes less the inserts that are currently used as nut and bolt boxes. Thanks
