My WT is a 42 and the WT look exactly like the ones pictured in Partestres' post. The ones on the auction are elongated. Look closely. You'll see what I mean.

I cannot and will not state absolutely whether this bayonet is right or not based only on the photos.

That said, I don't see any real flags to say that it is not right. In fact, I see several things that make me think it is OK as the faker would not get the details right.

I have seen the WT mark on the guard on both sides, so that is not really an issue.

The grips look OK and I have not seen fakes of these yet.

The poor marking is not unusual, as the thickness and smoothness of the ricasso varied and the stamp is often slightly off center or crooked. There are also some slight differences in the stamps even for the same date. I don't see anything in this stamp that makes me call it fake.

In my photo, look at the guard just below the blade on the 1942 version. There is a slight dished out area on the blade side of the guard, and I see this same thing on the closeup of the marks in the one for sale.

Again, I would not make a definitive call without examining the bayonet personally, but I don't see any real problems.
