A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... M1 Carbine

I still use one a a house/farm weapon. Killed a 175+ lb. deer at 75 yards with one heart/lung shot from the carbine with a 110 grn JHP Winchester. Ran about 20-25 yards and dropped dead. Hell of an exit wound.

I had switched to a 7.62x39 as a house gun, but my right shoulder is thrashed and needing another re-build so I went back to the Underwood.

I picked up 4 mags full of 60s dated US military ball ammo at a flea market a week ago. 3 mags were 30 round. 2 were Type IV and were marked M2. One was Type 3 marked M2 over KI. The other was a 15 round marked U. Looks like I got one good ex military 30 round. The others are very high quality so I did good. I paid 50 bucks for all. Now I have enough ammo to try out a carbine. I saw 2 more good 15 round type 1 mags at trade day for 10 a piece. I didnt have 20 on me so I may go back for them. What are the hard to find makers on 15 round mags?
