H&r M1
I have come accross a 5.9 mil range H&R. The barrell looks to be original to the rifle and I believe is dated 12/54. Not positive as I looked at 2 of them. The op rod is H&R as I believe the stock is as well. The stock is dark but looks like it has a small box das and circle P on th egrip. The stock does have a couple decent dents which might steam out. . Trigger group is springfield. Asking price is $700. IS the asking price any where in the ball park? TIA
Ok I know I have the serial number wrong. So I am going to go back and look at it again tomorrow and get the SN and Barrrel date.

H&R
Sounds like a good price if barrel has life left in it.

A service grade CMP
H&R would be $ 595.00 plus $ 20.00 shipping. I would think you would have a chance of getting something about the same as what you described or better. Maybe even a HRA stock or more HRA parts.
On the other hand that price is in the "ballpark" for a private sale and you do know exactly what you are getting.
Post the serial number and barrel date when you get a chance.

I couldn't begin to begin to place a value on that M1
with the information you've given. If there's nothing about that HRA that makes it better than the average CMP
Service Grade M1, I'd sooner order one.

Well I did bite the bullet. The sn is in the 5512xxx range and the barrel date is 8-54. All the parts that I can tell on are HRA parts. The rifle does have some wear and the finish is worn but the T&E is 2 and well as the MW. The rifle is solid. The gas cylinder looks good on the gauge as well. I do believe this is a shooter grade form CMP
and I know I could have had a better price but I feel I did well. Besides I have not had time to go tot he CMP here lately. Thanks for the input.
Almost forgot no rust or pitting at all. Bore is excellent as well.
