Excellent demonstration of the historically proven potential accuracy of the M-98 w/ good 8mm ammunition. How is your scope mounted? Is this the way your purchased the rifle. What ammunition were you using? Inquiring minds want to know? Sincerely. BruceV.

Reason: 2 typos in 10 words - is that a record?

Hello, the scope is mounted on a one piece rail mount, not sure of the make. It was as I purchased it.
I think I may spend some money on a nice scope for it.
I was using reloaded ammo. 166 gn Lapua projectiles - 42.5 gns of ADI AR2206H
Will make a nice hunting rifle, will change the projectiles though !

Caliber??
From the responses, it appears some folks think that this M98 is an 8mm. Please confirm that this "Israeli M98" is one of their conversions to 7.62 NATO and the loads you quoted were in fact .308 Win/7.62 NATO loads.
Better be safe than sorry!!

Considering the demonstrated performance, it would be foolish to alter that rifle in any way. Leave it and enjoy a superb shooter.
