.3006 loads for my M1903
looking for a load for my M1903, only powder on hand is N140 and 155gr sierra HPBT matchkings, am only punching paper at 100 to 300 metres,
Lee book gives 42.9 grs stating load for 155gr jacketed , but below has 47.8 grs for a 156 gr jacketed bullet ?
Also anyone got any download info for using pistol powder and light bullets?
This for just a 100 yds tunnel i shoot in.

Try it with N110 or better with Trail Boss and H&N bullets
RN .308/165 HS, COL 81,0mm , CCI 200 , Vihtavuori 18,0grs N 110 ,no crimp,490 m/sec
With Trail Boss try it around 14-16 grains. No Guarantee. The load with the N110 is from H&N Bullets and work. I like the Trail Boss more because it fills up 70-80% of the case. Happy testing!

Do you have any tables showing loads for the 303 using the N140? That may give you a starting point (using light loads).

Bigduke6,
I think you have the best choice of powder for all these rifles ( and not only because i prefer the N140). On wednesday next week i go testing .30-06 loads with 155, 167, 185grs bullets ill send you the pics and datas. I didnt give the guy a call because my dealer said he has got an 03 A1 from somewhere in Germany
and he will bring them at the end of next week. So i will take a look on these and when it isn´t in good shape i`ll try it at your dealer. Thank you.
Regards
Gunner
For the .303 i have this load 180grs FMJ S&B, 37.8grs N140, CCI BR-L2, COL 77.8mm. For my 2-groove barrels it works with 32mm at 100m and 5 shots
For the 4-groove barrels i use 150grs Hornady SP, 41.4grs N140, CCI BR-L2, COL 76.2. 22mm at 100m with 5 shots

C.E. Harris developed a load that is useful in many centerfire rifles - 13 grains of Alliant's RedDot and any bullet in the 150 -180 grain range.
I have seen similar loads using 12 grains of Bullseye and 14 grains of Unique. I mention these, though I realize that they are not the powders in question. They may give you a base for judging. Fast to medium fast pistol/shotgun powders at 12 -14 grains.
What powders are equivalent to Red Dot?

Pete,
for these loads we use VV N110 or IMR Trail Boss with H&N coated lead bullets.
