Ballpark value, please
Hi,
I have a Garand that I purchased years ago through the ODCMP. I'd appreciate an approx. value, if someone can help.
The serial number is 60853XX. It was sold as Collector Grade, is in excellent original condition & appears to be all matching.
Thanks for your assistance.
Steve

I know I just spent 1400 putting together a correct gun from parts, so take it from there. I still need a lockbar for it. Stu

Thanks !
Thanks to those who kindly responded to my request. You have helped me get an idea of my Garand's value.
Best regards,

I wouldn't be comparing your rifle to IHC. Try finding recently sold 6.0 mil SA to get an accurate price. I am sure it will get a good price as many would like a nice 6 mil. SA in their collection, I know I would. Also, this rifle is within the last serial block of M1 rifles to be produced by Springfield Armory.

I paid $1600 for a 6mil collector grade about 2 years ago and I thought it was a steal deal then. Scott Duff sold one on his website for $1995 and change about 5 years ago but with no CMP papers. I've also seen them sell in the low 2000's in recent years.....and then you have your cmp auctions...in which the last 6mil CG the cmp sold was I believe for aound $4000+.....
6 mils are often all over the place price-wise, but I think $2000-2500 is as good a place as any to start, especially if it is minty, a collector grade, and you have the cmp papers for it..
