I have had good results using a 150 gr. Rem. PSP in Winchester brass w/ Winchester LR primers and 48.0 gr. of Win. 748 powder. I have used this load in my Rem. 03-A3, Smith Corona 03-A3 and my Rem. 700. Accuracy and on target effectiveness in deer and hog hunting have all be excellent. HTH. Sincerely. BruceV.

google "the load" by Ed Harris. He uses cast lead bullets with 2400 and Red Dot for loads in th .30-06. Everything I have read shooters do real well with it at 100yds.

will someone tell me if CCI primers are "harder" than Federal primers? I am trying to get a primer for 308/06 loads that will meet the requirement for matching the primer hardness as to the primers used on GI ammo/ match or not? Trying to keep from slam fires as noted at many loading sites I read. And, so how does this match with the loads discussed above? Do the GI primers infuence the match loads and theiir accuracy?

Hi duggaboy,
yes the CCi primers are a little harder than the Federals, but i never had any problem with the CCI`s. I use them in all of my rifles and also in pistols and my revolver.

47 grains of IMR4895, a WLR seated below flush, full-length sized case trimmed to 2.484 and a 150 pulldown. OAL- 3.330" Does 2650 out of my Garands and is fairly accurate at 100 yards. Be sure to clean the primer pocket and uniform it.
