    John Dillinger's gun

A gun that belonged to John Dillinger was sold this weekend in Dallas for $95,600. It was a 41 cal double derringer. It was hidden in his sock when he was arrested in Tucson Ariz. in 1934.

Looks as though it spent a lot of time in a sock.

Yeh. I wonder how it was documented, surely it had had some sort of 'proof' with it, or buyer was a damn fool!

When I was at Cody Wyoming,a small private museum, not the well known one,had a pistol, that was labeled as the one used by Dillinger to escape from jail. The one whittled from wood, and painted black.
It was just in a display case, along with common stuff.
I still have doubts of its real identity.
