I was trained with the M79 round and that was strictly fragmentation; there was no anti-armored capability.
You are correct, I have a lot of original research information on Grenade Launchers. I have also launched over 200 projectiles since I started "playing with them" in 1968.
My biggest problem with the M29 Energa was accuracy. I had only a couple in possession and as launching continued they would get more beat up with damaged or missing fins. When I was launching into my Barn Window which was about 5 ft x 5 ft at 100 yards, I was lucky to get it inside 1/2 the time. My projectile "old red" has been launched probably 75 times or more since I started launching Energas in 1986 and now gives me no consistency in travel. But I love him anyway.
