Tactical Solutions dedicated 22LR M4 upper: any comments ??
From months of research, I have boiled the hunt for a dedicated M4 carbine 22LR upper to a Tactical Solutions one. They are pricey but I want one that will run and run hard. My MAC 22 LR conversion unit is just too finicky and accuracy is not wonderful. I also do not want to toss 22LR down my 223 barrel in any volume.
Is the Tactical Solutions dedicated Upper a good solid one ? Anyone have one and can comment.
By the way: at the range yesterday a guy showed up with a new in the box Colt AR M4 in 22 LR and it would not fire over one round at a time regardless of ammo used. Light FP strikes after first shot fired: I am not interested in that option of 22LR M4.
Tactical Solutions? Good or what?

I have had mine on order since the NRA show in Phoenix. Everything I have heard about Tactical Solutions has been GOOD. Many have told me they are the best. Funny you bring this up today, They called and left a message today that they are shipping mine out. I will let you know when I put a few
.22 rounds down range.

Colt .22LR M4
I have 5K rounds of Remington .22LR High Velocity through mine without a failure. I put an EOTECH HWS on it. What a gas! Got to keep the weapon very clean and lubed with LPS.

Tactical Solutions at the range
Just got back from spending a few hours at the range with my new dedicated upper from Tactical Solutions. What a HOOT!!! Had it on a new Noveske lower I just built. Sighted it in but didn't do any serious dialing in. (Figured I would break it in before really getting serious with it.)
Couple of minor snafu's. At first it didn't like picking up the first round of a fully loaded Blackdog mag. This may have been operator error as after 50rounds the problem went away. ( I think I was easing the bolt forward a little before letting it slam home.)
After 200 rounds the bolt hung up in the rear position after placing a newly loaded magazine in the well. (Again, I can't say if it was operator error or if the new lower caused the problem. This is the first time I have built a lower.)
After that, the firearm worked flawlessly. 40 rounds at 25 yrds could be covered with a silver dollar with open sights freehand and and consistantly hit the GONG at 100 yrds. After 500 rounds I figured I am really going to save some money over the traditional 5.56.
By the way, 2 different rangemasters stopped to see why the "bolt carrier was not fully back" during cease fire. I would have thought they would have seen enough dedicated 22 uppers or conversions by now to know the bolts are more exposed in the rear position than on a AR15. All in All I think I am going to really like this setup.

I love mine, it will run all day on Federal bulk pack 525 rd boxes. I've shot 4 rimfire "action" matches with it this summer and its a hoot.

bought one: its all good
Ibought the Tactical Solutions M4 upper 22LR unit: Shot 647 rds non stop of cheap Fed 550 value pack Walmart ammo and then had first mis feed. Cleared it and shot another 180 rds flawlessly. I am quite pleased with accuracy and the functioning of this upper . It ain't cheap but it is what I needed.
My 22 conv unit was not reliable and it was not accurate and it was a waste of money. I did not need a conv kit to plink, I needed a kit that would run and run hard. Conv kits in my opinion are not up to snuff to my needs.
My one and only misfeed in 827 rounds? It was the cheap ammo and the round that I fired did not feel right at firing and sure nuff the next round failed to feed so I am certain it was the ammo at fault.
