What does he mean by "early MkI forestock"?
The wood is cut lower on the right side to allow for the non-existant mag cut-off. I have early wood here which has been serialised to their rifles: I believe some of it is even in the 8L, so the low wood went for quite a while of production.

My 42 Long Branch also has the low cutout on the right side. It's numbered 10L...
Can anyone tell me if the wood for my 41 is birch or maple?
