I've a feeling the UF Axxxxx rifles were on a single RAF contract, and that the top number is UF A 35500. I'm sure I've seen one or two UF A 351xx, but nothing higher than that.

I have UF A23408. I thought it was an Irish rifle???? No? It is a Century Intl., import. No 4 MK 2, UF 55.
So what DO I have??????? BTW, new in wrap, etc. Short stock. All parts match.

HRA466, The No.4 Mk.2 rifles were all nicknamed "Irish" (marketing?). This is incorrect tho' as all of the Irish rifles are in the PF series. There were also other contracts filled by Fazakerley.
Whether it's Irish or not there's no difference mechanically nor in value. A collector specifically looking for an Irish rifle may pay a small premium, however.

I have a No4 Mk2 with the serial number PF516715 and marked 10/49. This one was one of a batch taken by Parker Hale and after fitting of a 'ball burnished' barrel, was sold as a target rifle.

There really is no need to pay a premium for a "real" Irish conract rifle, as that run of 50,000 was the largest single run in the PF group. Get one from Barbados (IIRC), with a run of 10!

limpetmine, I agree 100%.
KimW, There are those Mk.2s outside of the usual UF or PF3XXXX range that we still haven't quite got a handle on. Does seem they were mainly manufactured for the private market, but there's alot of info to be had yet.
