I have an unused Metford Mark I receiver dated 1903.

Interestingly, the view marks or inspectors stamps have "VR" in them, but the marks on the butt socket is ER and 1903.

It is is mint and unused, a barrel has never been fitted from the look of it. An eight round mag fits a treat as well as a very thin early type Metford cut-off.

Bit of a puzzle???
