The problem with many descriptions that list "Correct" things is that they often do not bother to list all the incorrect things. There is also a difference between correct and original. While some people may be honest, I find that of little value regarding descriptions. Descriptions are either correct or incorrect regrdless of how honest a person might be. The key is to learn the pistols.

You are 100% correct. For someone that knows the pistols, they can completely disregard everything the seller says and rely on what they see. I have seen sellers say the most ridiculous things...

As you have said , correct and original is not the same thing. I don;t doubt that there are some people that are bidding on this auction thinking it is "Correct" when it's not and some people that are bidding, thinking they can put a correct barrel and mag in the pistol,even though it wouldn't be original to the pistol..

For my first military pistol, I hope that I end up with Correct and Original.

It's too bad they don't number all the parts, (large and small), including the two matching numbered magazines, kinda like the Lugers

The 1911A1 was made to be completely interchangeable while the Luger was not. During the time the Colt slides were numbered to the receiver, it was for their use rather than the military.

That's what I love about the armory built National Matches, most of them has the frame serial number and the NM parts number on the slide frame and barrel..

I don't have one yet but I might in a couple weeks if I don't buy something first.
