Model 1200? M1917 bayonet and scabbard
I have a new unissued 1917 bayonet and scabbard for a model 1200 trenck gun (I think, it has the black plastic grips and the fiberglass ? scabbard) what I really need is a 1917 bayonet and scabbard for an M1917 rifle, both are different. My question here is, given condition, are they comparable in value, if I head to the gun show and asked someone to trade, would it be an insult?

It sounds like you have a vietnam era bayonet. What are the markings on the blade? If you check out e-pay, they usually bring more than an original with a correct scabbard unless it is in exceptional condition.

1917 bayonet
It is in pristine condition, my wife is out of town and has the camera, otherwise I'd post it. People wouldn't probably believe it, anyhow, it has US M1917 on one side of the blade located on the handguard (not the blade), a C with an A inside it on the other side (again on the hand guard) and the scabbard has U.S-M1917 and below that is B.A. INC. In the process of looking for this whole get-up for my 1917 I got this, knowing it's not right I'm trying to find what is.

Sounds like you have a bayonet for a Vietnam era trenchgun, which would be incorrect for your 1917 rifle. If you go to a gun show you will probably end up getting fleeced. You would be better off offering your bayonet for sale here or in one of the other military forums, and then taking the money to purchase the correct bayonet for your rifle. You could even end up with change in your pocket to take your wife to dinner when she comes home with the camera!!

bayonet
I know that it is for a trench gun and incorrect for the 1917, scabbard too. What I was asking, is there a comparison in value. Would someone tell me to git out of Dodge if I were seeking a trade.
