Oh my ….
It's obvious that by accident or design, nobody is listening to what we've been trying to say. So, I'll do it here in the "M1 Carbine" forum one last time and for those trying to catch up, you can review the other thread on the Sales of fake stamps or other services .... (click here), which I CLOSED in the " M1 Garand/M14/M1ARifles" forum as well.
I said in that thread …....
We're ONLY concerned about policing what happens with ADVERTISEMENTS on our site and NOT about what's happening on other web sites on the Internet, which we have no ability to control. The purpose of my posting is to make all our members aware of our position regarding the sales and promoting of products or services such as this, which most collectors would be unable to clearly distinguish them in any manner from original and authentic items. The sale of items that are clearly identifiable as reproductions is permitted.
I further added in a follow up post …
Of course, nobody followed up with a desire to have a real world face-to-face discussion, which is not surprising. If you have any, or feel you'd like to talk about this problem over the phone, send me a PM or email with your phone number and I'd be happy to call you at my expense and we can work together to see if there's a practical solution.
In the interim, we'll continue to address the problem on a case by case basis, in a reasonable attempt to protect the interests of collectors, but also by handling any vendor with products or services, in a "fair, firm and friendly" manner.
So, if anyone feels there's an advertisement posted anywhere on milsurps.com that is misleading, promoting fraudulent counterfeiting activities to the detriment of our collector membership, or otherwise is not of a positive benefit to our community, please look in the information area of any post for this small triangle symbol --->
Click on thisand report the advertisement which will send private messages to ALL of our moderating staff, who will review the content and take action, if appropriate.
Since Mr. Ricca seems to be the current target here, I've checked and can find no advertisements on our site where Mr. Ricca is promoting the counterfeiting or faking of anything. On the contrary, although I'm not a U.S. arms collector, I did find dozens of regular forum posts where he seems to be going out of his way to help other members, while participating positively in the forums.
However, if anyone objects to any advertisement of his posted on THIS site, please follow the instructions above for reporting it and not use regular forums for back handed innuendos.
This thread is also now CLOSED, just like the other one.
Thanks for listening ...
Regards,
Badger (Doug)
