Have given 1 to my son and sold 1 to a close friend for what I had in it from CMPicon several years ago. His Dad carried one in WW2 so he really wanted one. Other than that, I'm planning to donate 1 to our parish auction and holding onto the rest. Since that makes 3, think I have room for at least a couple more. Just to find the money and get permission. Actually, my wife is rather shocked I am donating one. Maybe I'll get some brownie points towards buying at least one????

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. correct grade garand

    selling is unethical.
why did you purchase from the CMPicon?
profiteering from luck is not why the cmp exists.
    i have a 29711xx sa 6/44 te refurbished 7/65 that shot 1.864moa benched.
    3.310 oal, 150 rem fbsp, 45.5 varget.
    it will be inherited.
from the dcm a long time ago in the 1960's i purchased unfired sealed silver packaged .45.
lightly used 03a3, unused carbine, and 1922 well used 03.
all of these will be inherited.
it's our heritage - to be able to possess firearms.
    i'll keep the candle lit.

Actually, I can understand those that have to sell. The ones that bother me are those that just buy them, clean them up (maybe), then turn right around, make a buck and do it all over again. I believe I did nothing wrong with my friend as I did not make a cent and the donation is something that will help my parish. That is a good thing, especially in these times. After seeing what a pretty beat up M1icon got at a local farm auction recently I figured donating one would be a good way to help. I do not consider those actions unethical. I do consider the profiteers unethical. Until the CMPicon does something about those individuals I guess the practice will continue. This discussion has been going on for years in the various forums. I guess it will continue.
