If you think that this is BAD, then you ought to see some of the absolute abortions used by the Basra Palace guards. Awash with varnish and p--- poor chrome that was flaking off. Soul destroying. A bit like watching a magnificent elephant in a circus but worse!

The American science fiction TV series "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" had prop trak guns made from chrome plated Enfield Riflesicon of some sort (they used a No.5 Muzzle Flash hider painted orange, orange muzzles are a common feature of air guns these days) fitted with Compressed air cylinders to fire darts as a pre charged pneumatic.
I've often wondered where they got chrome plated Enfields. Then in recent years Chrome plated No.5 triggerguards have begun to show up.
No fore ends were fitted (later a vertical grip fore end was mounted on some) and buttstocks were painted black.

Could be some parade or guard rifles ended up being used for these props. none of the VTTBOTS trank guns have shown up on prop auction sites or in collections. I've found no information on these at sites that deal with such props.

The Germans used GEW 98 rifles modified to K98icon specs and chrome plated with black painted stocks for honor guards and for guards in public buildings.
Some chromed Springfield rifles have been used by school drill teams and for parade purposes.

I showed this to my daughter, she said "Who'd be fruity enough to do that?", then added, "It looks like Hello Kitty threw up on it".
    I agree!
