Thanks for the replies. I went to the CMPsite and saw it's an Austrian return gun. All the carbines I've seen at gun shows were the gray/green park and I thought the color was odd. Is it normal that the last 4 of the serial no. is stamped all over the place? I thought they just put the Mfg. stamp on the wood and other other parts. The wood has no "P" or inspection stamps but has the serial no. A little BLO
on the stock is ok? Got a scuff in the finish.Hmmmm. Just never seen Uncle Sam rebuild anything and keep the numbers matching.
I've been to the CMP site before when I got a Mint M44 US property .22 Mossberg when they were cheep and plentiful. Shoulda' bought a truck load!Gott'a love them!
