1917 extractor collar
I was given an Eddystone barreled stripped receiver in very good condition. I bought a Winchester bolt from Numrich. I tried to insert it but only the front of the bolt goes in to the receiver. The extractor collar hits on the receiver. I put the micrometer on it and the band measures .709" and the bolt sleeve measures .697". Has anyone seen different size collars or can it be the receiver ?

I' ve seen that happen, too. Couldn't tell you why they don't interchange, I just tried different ones until everything worked. Mfg. didn't seem to matter.

The collar is most likely bent out of original shape. You have have to buy another. Normally the extractor will force the collar into correct position. Not happening here. Do you have another extractor? Try that, good luck.

Thanks guys I'll try to find a new collar.

you have to have the extractor installed for the bolt to work in the receiver as well.

Yes I have the extractor. I did notice that one side of the T on the extractor collar was bent out of shape so that when the extractor was slid over the T it did not pull the collar together enough to fit snugly over the bolt. I tried to bend it down a little to take up some of the slack but the end snapped off.
Back to square one buy a new collar. Anyone know where? Numrich is out of stock.

Springfield Sporters lists the extractor collar for $2.
