A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I requested pictures of the byf VOPO he has listed. Turns out a few more parts arent matching, and the HG is miscoloured, dont know about the markings however.
The butt plate is flat, so this one has indeed seen some post war refurbing, but not much aparently. Still, not nice enough to join the ranks of my mauser collection

Well someone was on the ball.
The Kar98az and G.98/40 are both gone.

I didn't see any pics, but their prices both seemed to take into account their shortcomings with respect to completeness, condition and degree of matching, so for someone wanting a representative example, I think they did ok.

I asked for pics of both. The Kar was already gone though so I got some pics of the 98/40. It actually seemed pretty nice. All matching, including cleaning rod, sight hood and sling. Save for the bolt which was mismatched.

I'd say despite the mismatched bolt it was on-par, condition wise, with the example in the MKLicon.
