Looks like the nibs have the discoloration and deformation associated with the flame-hardening operation - the early mags have a simple cutout with no surrounding oval from the flame hardening that came late in 15-round mag manufacture. All kinds of previously unknown markings on M1icon carbine parts have surfaced lately - I think the fakers have a sense of humor as well as cupidity.
