Just messing around with some loads.

I was bored and pulled out some Greek 30-06 surplus. I pulled about 10 bullets and got about 55 grains. I ended up loading them back with 55 grains and topped it of with a Berger 155 grain bullet. Shot it in my new 4 groove 1903a3 barrel. I was getting a 3 shot group around 1 inch at 200 yards.
Boy that was fun.. I need to get some more Berger 155's..

If you have surplus ammo.. pull the bullets and replace them with better bullets.. it makes a big difference...

Sounds good the result but be carefully and use only the same weight and the same form of the bullets. There is a difference between HPBT`s and RN`s with a much higher friction. That can increase the gas pressure. See the difference between this two bullets with the same weight.

Changing the bullet on military ammo has been done for years, and the common name for it was "Mexican Match".
Even heard of some pulling the bullet and dumping the powder on berdan primed rounds. Reloaded it gave more consistent loads than boxer primed rounds. Certainly can't prove that though.
