1941 No.4 Mk1(T) Shirley (B) production part 1/3

Brian Dick asked me to look into what snipers were produced during 1941. Since his thread has wondered off, I started a new one.

Shown is my 1941 B code (Shirley) BSA produced rifle. Sight and mount not matching to the rifle, of course. Of interest is the lower case "t" prefix on the serial number found on the receiver, bolt and barrel. The forestock has the number but no prefix. The barrel is a late replacement, numbered and marked with a Fazakerley F/49 which I take to be a 1949 inspection mark.

Note the unusual location of the FTR marking, between the receiver date and serial number. There are no other marking to infer use by another country.
