NOS WW2 carbine pouches

I went online shopping for a NOS (new, old stock) Type I carbine magazine pouch to put on the stock of the Christmas Inland. Saw LOTS of repos in light Khaki for $15. One guy had a few NOS originals of different makes and varying shades for $29 delivered on EBAY. Got an unissued Froehlich & Sons 1943 dated in the "in between" shade. After surfing the web sights and surplus dealers, it seemed like a fair price. I found more NOS Type Is (real ones) than NOS Type IIs that were WW2 dated. I have one NOS Avery 1944 Type II and about 3 assorted used ones dated 1945. The rest are Korean war vintage.

Picked up a used "IS" oiler and VG used "D" tabbed sling for $18+$3 on Gunbroker. Didn't want a repro C tip and couldn't afford a real C tip. I could have bid on the one from the other post, but left it for the collectors.

Do those prices sound about right? Here's link to the pouch auction. ANyone see anything wrong with it?

I am suprised you couldn't find the later mag pouches. I would have thought they would be easier to find. Folks want the "Stock" pouch. Even though we know it wasn't designed to be a stock pouch. They usually pass on the later 2 strap pouches.

I pulled out one of my boxes of pouches. Here are a few. The 1943's and 1944's are marked on the inside of the flap. On the 1945's some are marked on the inside of the flap and some on the outside back. I always thought that was strange. I would have guessed they would all be the same.

Typing one handed after 3 days in hospital.The NOS pouch for for my Christmas carbine is the real deal. Sweet

But the oiler and sling are cheap repros. Faked new IS oiler and a really cheesey new repro sling.They were sold as "used" D TIP sling and used oiler. First clue should have been poor picture.I bought used so i would not get burned! Oh well only lost $20.

He shows a real, used IS oiler in the auction photo, but wasn't what I got. The sling I got is thinner than the one he shows in the picture, too. Even if it was an aftermarket, it didn't look too bad, but what I got sucked! Bait and switch.

I'm so sad about the state of repos and humpers. Here in Canada, no one is interested in things like the pouches so up to a short time ago they could be had. I had two dozen of them and all different. Same with mags. Parted with them a bit ago for chicken feed. Guess that's how it goes sometimes.

Awesome group of mag pouches.
Have been looking ofr teh British made pouches and have had bad time trying to find them. It is really interesting to see the different color variations used by the same maker over a period of time.

Ok, which one of you guys keeps outbidding me on the C tip! Hahaha. That's OK, I don't need on that bad.

Going through the EBAY and Gunbroker ads, I find it irritating that some of the people selling repros, use a picture of an original. The one I bought shows a used but good D tip, probably (Korea/early Vietnam) and a real IS oiler. It says nothing about repro, and in fact list them as used GI. Looking at other auctions from other sellers, it seems to be the norm. One even shows a well used GI, but says new repro in his ad. This is cr@p! LEAVING A NEGATIVE FEED BACK, WHICH I USUALLY DO NOT DO.

Is this a real one, or a repro? Sorry, I don't have any close-up shots of the pouch itself.
