No exciting story, over the last two years I had stumbled into original and early,IP,S'G' and Rock-Ola. That set the hook pretty deep. I was hoping to get a Highwood M1A1
from the CMP
to add to my set but the price's were pretty scary.
This showed up on Gunbroker in June labeled as a estate consignment from a shop. I talked to the seller alot but ran out of money. In July he e-mailed and said he took it as a return to save the marriage of the high bidder. We negotiated on it and I was able to put it in long term layaway with him, which was nice as my work hours were cut to 32 all summer..
I paid quite a bit, but I think it was a bargain compared to what some of the nicer CMP guns went for. I sold my two Blue Sky Inlands, one in a repo M1A1 stock and two extra 1903's and some spare parts that were laying around I did well on those and it covered a good chunk of the M1A1.

Hahaha Save the life....
I sold an A2 AR I built up on a PWA lower at a gunshow in Salinas in the early 90's just after A2 parts and barrels became available. The next day the guy returned with tears in his eyes begging me to take it back because it was going to cause a divorce! My wife was working the show with me and told me I dang well better take it back!

I just tore down the trigger group.
I will add pics to the photobucket album.
Hammer type 2 dog leg, blued ,poorly struck HI
safety type 2 plain ends, blued
sear RI
Trigger blued RI
Early trigger housing pin missing detent, blued
also found a weak IO and weak CC on bottom of pistol grip
There are 3 minor cracks in the wood that will need to get addressed at some point.

Your hammer looks all weird and stuff with those grinding marks on it.
Nothing like those nice smooth ones MR. Ricca showed us on ebay.
You remember back when you thought you might lose your job?
Good things come to good people. Couldn't be happier for you.
What was it your gal called us?
Your CGB's ?
Cyber Gun buddies?
Hopefully someone will have a extra swivel and screw.
Enjoy....
You earned that one !!

Well work is still not great.even after the layoffs and forced retirements, I was able to take off for 17 days straight (including weekends) for Camp Perry and vacation. When I got back we started on 40 hours again, but now were slow and going back to 32 after next week. I was a good boy and didn't spend any money at Camp Perry though.
She calls you guys my VGB's (virtual Gun Buddies).
Thanks for all you support and guidance over the last few years Charlie, have a great Thanksgiving buddy.

Well I clened out and re-oiled the trigger group and got that working good, I washed the handguard in Lestoil to get some of the oil out and then I gave the wood a few coats of BLO
/Turp inside and out. The handguard came out matching the stock perfect. I put a repop swivel on for now, and added a Khaki small buckle C-tip I have been hoarding for just such a occasion. I think that will be all till the garage warms up in the spring. Thanks for your help everyone.
