Yippee!
Got a call from CMP
sales department in Anniston today about my racker Inland order. I forgot to fill in one blank, and they wanted the info:
1) Yes, I will be getting an Inland, as they still have enough (though I would not wait long if you want one, they are running low on all carbines)
2) It should be sent to be filled tomorrow, and I should have it within a week.
Not bad, just about 5 weeks from sending the order in.
I am not terribly patient, and waiting has been heck! Worth it, though, to get a piece of History directly from the government. I have ammo, a GI sling, oiler, Type one (stock) pouch, and a stack of GI mags waiting for it.
Now I have problem. I will have two GI carbines. Do I get an Erma 22 carbine I am looking at, or a cheap 1911a1 .45? Right now, I am leaning towards Erma for cheap shootining carbine fun. My 10-22 is just not the same, even with a 30 round magazine.

Rangemaster,
that are good news! And nice problems that you have! If i were you i`ll take the Erma and look a little longer for an good 1911A1. I made the best deals on guns when i was waiting and say to myself: One day i`ll get one no hurry!
Ich wünsche Dir alles Gute bei deiner Suche nach einer 1911!!!
Best Regards

RM,
Congrats!!! I know you have been looking forward for this for a while.
My 2 cents? Well, we all have our lists of "the next gun", but I would actually wait until you get your Inland in your hands. You may decide to use your extra cash to invest in fixing up your new toy. You may want to replace the stock, need some different parts or do a refinish job - all based on your desires... besides, rushing out to buy a new toy may just take something away from the Inland. Savor the moment - like children, the next one will come soon enough.

Vielen Danke, Herr Gunner! Vieleicht ich werde der Erma erste zu kaufen!
After all, it would be cheaper to shoot than either the carbine or the 1911. No hurray, though. As it was pointed out, I plan on enjoying the Inland. I asked for flat bolt, Inland barrel, and GI stock.

Hahaha!
CAFDFW,
Ich weiss nicht das sie Deutsch sprechen!!
OK, we'll be good, won't we Gunner! It's just that I haven't had a chance to use my German
since I went to Oesterreich (Austria
) 2 1/2 years ago. It had deteriorated badly in the last 40 years from dis-use!

I know what you mean. I took high school 'Deutsch' and all the way through college but it sure gets away from you after 30 years of non-use.
I can barely make out any spoken German
now. I guess I should have taken Spanish!
