The USGI stocks were all free floated. The only point they touched the barrel was at the tip, under the upper band. At that point, the stock was supposed to put 4-8 lbs of upward pressure on the barrel. That may be why the gunsmith chose the full length stock.

I think the rifle is capable of better accuracy than I am. I'm still getting used to peep sights and have some difficulty with the vertical. I think the up and down stringging is probably my fault .

I believe that it is an 03A3 barrel. It is very tight--a "0" on the CMP
