Snail Drum Pouch
I picked this up quite a few years ago here in Berlin. I know that they weren´t ever mil issue but haven´t been able to find a maker´s mark or when it was made. Don´t know when pop fasteners were invented or first used. Apparently, snail drums only became available to the civilian market some time after 1920. The old lad I obtained it from had been an infantry officer. He also sold me the snail drum and loading tool.

Here's a question not directly related to the pouch, which I don't think I've ever seen in person, but rather to the whole Luger ensemble- What with the long range sights , large magazine capacity, and detatchable shoulder stock options, was there ever a select fire version? Seems a natural evolution, but don't recall ever having heard of one.
