Looks like a very small flaming bomb directly under the "D". However, these tired old eyes may be playing tricks on me. I zoomed in to 200% to see the marking.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Are those markings?

Good eye! Looks like an import mark, but could be just random marks. If you want a nice surprise, put it on Gunbroker and see what it sells for. I'd love to have a 'shooter' that's all G.I. If you do, be sure to describe the bore and gauge the muzzle wear.

I call this my S'G' piece of Crap. Came to me in a parking lot sale at the Great Western Show when it was held in Pomona. Mixmaster, wrong stock, looks to have had a ton of use. Swallows the guage. But it did have some good parts. Park is not as bad holding it. I think the flash enhanced it some. Think I paid $225 in 1989 or 1990.

Charlie, no markings on the side of the barrel. In fact it is a W barrel. Looks to have been turned on the upper end. I assume someone took off the import mark.

Curt, mag catch is marked S'G' as was the safety. original, probably not to this gun. I don't think anything was original when I got it.

    Leaf sight is WSI
    Trigger housing S'G'
    Sear SW-IP
    Front sight N
    Bolt S'G'
    FP II
    Extractor Rock-Ola

That's all I have on the sheet that I put with it.

Swallows the guage? sounds like its been counter-bored.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
