Why can't I live next door to widows of old WWII vets?????
Seriously, I have no doubt that you will do more for her that money can't buy.... YOu have to love the older generation as neighbors.... Always willing to help out (even in their old age) .....They respect you as a neighbor and all they ask is respect in return... I wish all neighbors were like that generation

We collectors should all be on a mission to save original WWII carbines from being turned in to the police and destroyed. Have an original IBM in the collection that was found in the closet of a WWII Lt. Col. by his wife and niece, as they were cleaning it out after he passed away. They were both anti-gun and immediately turned it in to the police dept. Fortunately the police officer on duty told them what she had and suggested she sell it to an antique dealer for $$. I bought it from them and they were kind enough to tell me the previous owner's name and phone number who told me the story and wrote a letter about who it belonged to. Funny, they talked about what a great man the Lt. Col was, a WWII Army Airforce pilot, but were going to destroy a permanent reminder of him. I explained the letter would be kept with the carbine so that his history would not be lost. This was in California.
