Would want to make sure his is not a Dulite (blued) finish, which I think it wouldn't be.
    BQ or Newscotlander would know.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. 6-42,
This site shows the Williams Gun Sight that is on your carbine.
They are located in Davison, MI.
About a 1 hour drive for me.
    If you read it closely,
You'll see that that sight doesn't need the dovetails to be grinded down.

The receiver and barrel might have been Parkerized at different times and places depending on barrel manufacture. The barrels were Park'd with the band and front sight on and then mated to a receiver.
At rebuild time, the barrel and receiver were Parkerized together then the band and sight were installed, usually new parts. In this case the barrel and receiver might be more gray with the Type 3 band and new sight darker to near-black. Later Type 3 bands were zinc phosphated and were grey.

That is definitely the rear sight on my Inland. It's been 10 years since I've seen the front sight, but I seem to remember the center blade, with the wings for protection.
