Question M1 Carbine Ammo Lot #'s

I just picked up three (3) 600 Rd Spam Cans of M1icon Carbine Ammo. Two (2) Cans are LC Lot # 13360 and One (1) is RA (Remington Arms) # 5418. Cans are excellant condition and marked "IN 10RD CLIPS BANDOLEERS"

Can anybody 'date' these lots or direct me to a website to get the info on the manufacturing dates

Mike if they are 600 rounds on strippers then they are no older then the Korean War era. Most likely in the late 50's to mid 60's. Cannot do better then that for you.

Ya just had to remind of the 'SNOW' didn't ya!! - I don't mind mowing the grass now cause I can do that in jeans & a T-Shirt

I got the ammo at $250.00 per Spam Can to my door via a 'face to face' transaction.

Also at the same time/same seller I got 480 Rds of RA Lot # 5471 in a 840 Rd (50 Cal Type Flip Top Can) so I actually could inspect the contents. Pristine Ammo, Bandos with stipper clips and cardboard seperators, 120 Rds per Bando, headstamped RA-55. Got that can for $200.00

Price worked out to about the same as CMPicon AQUILA shipped (41.7 cents per Rd or so) ..So I jumped on it

I'm a 'Happy Camper' but out of 'Mad Money' now. Too bad cause the guy says he has more.

    Nice grab Mike.........
I noticed these on GB this morning.
    Both pricey?
But I would like to have all the LC 68........ just to much $$ for me with a possible purchase pending Sunday and a vacation planned..

    Cheers,

Care to share the source? That's a fair price for good ammo, I'd love to add to my stash. Of all the firearms I own, carbines are the only long guns my wife cares to shoot. My grandson dearly loves them as well, because he knows when the old man cashes his chips in, he's the proud owner of one of mine (I plan to have at least 5, as that's how many grandsons I have, they can fight over who gets the Rock Ola).

    Let me know.
