My new purchace a few weeks ago.

    Hi
I bought this No4 mk 1 1943 Maltby a few weeks ago from a recommended Frenchicon dealer who got it from a collector in Paris.
I will put up pics one or two at a time to see what you all have to say about it.

You can make out a "T" just left of the screw.

If that's a punch mark I see on the rear pad, it should align with the screw's slot in order to stake it. Has the pad been removed and reinstalled?

Forgive me for asking, but was it described to you as an original T?

It looks more like a split roll pin to me, but more photos would help.

    I do know it is NOT a H & H "T"

    Here ar 2 more pics.

    list of differences

Both pads are fixed with roll pins.
    Wrong shape pads.
    Wrong screws.
    wrong screw positions.
    Wrong mounted position.

No markings at all to indicate an H&H conversion.
    Only the one "T" .

The work to mount the pads is very professional.
It is felt that this is an Israeli made "T"
I think that any one making a fake would have not made these mistakes.
It was sold as a sniper but not as a "T" the price was right for Franceicon,
ie the price of an OK rifle with all the extras was more than what I paid.
It also has a fantastic trigger pull very smooth direct at 1.5kg.
